My approach to teaching voice is simple: I want my students to find their voice using their instrument in the healthiest and most sustainable way possible. Having studied voice for almost 20 years, and having taught it for almost 10, I've learned that one of the worst things a teacher can do for a student is try to make them sound like someone else.
I have taught in a variety of genres and styles, to a wide variety of ages and skill levels. I specialize in classical, contemporary, and experimental vocal styles, so whether you're looking for a serious practice, or just want to learn something new, I would be more than happy to help you reach your vocal goals!
Voice lessons are currently virtual only, booked in 30 and 60 minute increments. Sliding scale available.
My yoga practice is rooted in the idea that every body is a yoga body.
Regardless of age, identity, ability, shape, or size, everyone can practice yoga and benefit from it. I offer a wide variety of yoga styles, and enjoy infusing a large amount of pranayama and sonic healing into each session. This offers a more full bodied (literal and figurative) approach to practicing yoga.
My practice is currently based out of NYC, both through private and small group sessions. I fully believe that yoga should be communicative and transformative, not in physical appearance, but in our relationship with ourselves and our communities. It should be committed to a foundation of love and respect for ourselves so we may pass that love and respect onto others.

Linda Burns Mukherjee is a vocalist, voice actor, and yoga instructor based out of New York City. Born in Michigan, she received her BM in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan, and her MFA in Voice from California Institute of the Arts. She has had the privelege of studying voice with Marti McConnell, Molly Filmore, Martha Sheil, Stanford Olsen, and Jacqui Bobak. As a vocalist, composer, and voice actor, she embraces the uncomfortable while infusing the fantastical.
Linda studied yoga for 10 years before making the COVID-19 driven decision to become a yoga instructor. Her practice is rooted in the idea that every body is a yoga body, and she continually works towards dismantling the notion that western yoga is to make skinny-white-ladies skinnier. Linda Burns Mukherjee is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Linda loves the Rugrats, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, autumn in Michigan, and her kitten, Momo.
